Abstract

Introduction

There is an impending fear that the world is nearing the end of “antibiotic era” due to the growing concern of resistant pathogens. Hence, there is an emphasized need of infection control practices among health-care workers; along with search for newer molecules. Nosocomial infections is one of the important concern in hospitalized patients. An estimated 20%–40% of HAIs have been attributed to cross-infection via the hands of healthcare personnel, who have become contaminated from direct contact with the patient or indirectly by touching contaminated environmental surfaces.1
